“Mathematics and its Applications”
by Dr Donna M. G. Comissiong (Donna M. G. Dyer)
Donna Dyer holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Department of Engineering Science and Applied Mathematics (ESAM) at Northwestern University, Evanston, IL (USA). She is also a former postdoctoral research associate at the Centre for Mathematics (CMUC), University of Coimbra, Portugal.
She completed her BSc in Mathematics and Chemistry (Double Major), and later an MPhil in Mathematics, from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad, West Indies.
Currently, Dr Dyer is a senior lecturer in Mathematics at UWI St. Augustine, with her main research interests in mathematical modelling, applied mathematical epidemiology, infectious disease modelling, asymptotic analysis and nonlinear dynamics.
“The Anythingness of Algorithms”

Stokeley Smart is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and is the Coordinator of the Actuarial Science degree program.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (F.S.A. 2008), a Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst (C.E.R.A. 2007) and a Professional Risk Manager (P.R.M. 2006).
He has a Bachelor of Laws, Honors (LL.B) from the University of London (1998) and an Honors Bachelor of Science (H.B.Sc.) from The University of Toronto (1995) with double major in Actuarial Science and Statistics and a minor in Mathematics.
Mr. Smart endeavours to find synergies between actuarial science and other disciplines to create real world solutions for problems that plague society.
His projects included collaborations with the Caribbean Court of Justice, the National Insurance Board and the Department of Chemistry.
“Statistics and Applications”
by Dr Isaac Dialsingh
Isaac Dialsingh holds a PhD in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University. He also holds a certificate in the teaching of statistics at the tertiary level, as well as a Black Belt certificate in Six Sigma.
He has published articles in sampling theory, medical statistics and false discovery rates, and has served as a statistical consultant on some international surveys. He is also an FAO certified trainer in Fisheries Statistics.
Dr Dialsingh is currently a lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, and is involved heavily in the teaching of the MSc Statistics programme. He also teaches elective statistics courses in the MSc Data Science programme.

Dr. Terry Mohammed currently holds the positions of Deputy Dean (Outreach) in the Faculty of Science of Technology, as well as Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at the Department of Chemistry at The University of The West Indies, St. Augustine. Dr. Mohammed specializes in Quality Assurance, Quality Management Systems, LIMS and Analytical Methodologies.
Dr. Mohammed gained his B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from UWI, his Ph.D. from UWI, and MBA from Harriot-Watt University of Edinburgh. Before starting his career At UWI, Dr. Mohammed worked at The Institute of Marine Affairs as a Scientific Officer, then he joined PETROTRIN where he held the posts of Supervising Chemist, Head Chemist, Quality Assurance Chemist and Aviation Jet Specialist.
Dr. Mohammed is currently a member of The Steering Committee for The Trinidad and Tobago Chemistry Olympiad, Vice President of the Trinidad and Tobago Chemical Society, Technical Auditor for the TTBS, member of the Laboratory Accreditation Council, and chair of the Regional Technical Subcommittee for Sodium Hypochlorite Solutions.
